[ More about Step 4: Commit to Freedom ]

To me, Christmas is not merely a festival where people exchange gifts and take long vacations. Christmas is the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, who has demonstrated Love and Forgiveness at the Highest Level. Hence, for the Christmas of 2009, I am making the 5 Commitments for Forgiveness on the Internet.
|
1) I will accept Reality. I will stop demanding that the world behaves in the way I want. I will stop thinking that I know better than God about how the world should be run. I will resign as the General Manager of the Universe.
2) I will be honest about my intentions. I will speak the truth about myself to myself, even if it hurts. I acknowledge my past desires to manipulate other people for approval or personal gain.
3) I will not jump to conclusions. I will not speculate on the intentions, decisions and lives of other people. I will not believe any speculation about anyone. I will not allow myself to pre-judge someone I have not met merely because of what I think or hear about the person.
4) I will not judge. I will not use the idea of absolute superiority or inferiority. I will accept myself and my principles. I will look upon other people as favorably as I look upon myself.
5) I will be compassionate. I will pay attention to how I feel. I will not do something for someone else and then blame them for "making me do it". Even when other people go against my advice, I will not say "serve you right" when things go wrong. I will remember that other people share the same heart as myself, and are only doing their best in their Life Situation.
Please help to advance World Peace, by making these commitments in for at least one person in your life. Then when you are ready, make these commitments in public by joining the Facebook group, I made the 5 Commitments For Forgiveness. Thank you!
