Human Nature

The idea that Human Nature is intrinsically evil is rather popular throughout the ages. Various theologies and even the idea of democracy (with its checks and balance system) have arisen as a result of this belief. The latest twist to this concept is the idea that humans evolved from animals, and therefore, have a nature similiar to animals. [This is helpful for explaining most human behavior but is harmful as a guide of morality.]

Yet, if we believe in this idea, we begin to fear ourselves. We imprision our darkness behind our Inner Berlin Wall, because we must stop ourselves from doing what we are naturally inclined to do.

I firmly do not believe that "power corrupts and absolutely power corrupts absolutely". Most people believe that power (over the material world) will tempt us to abuse it. I believe that no power can ever make us doing something if we are not capable of doing it in the first place.

Power simply allows us to express ourselves more freely, by reducing or taking away the negative consequences. In other words, power is but a tool that amplifies our Inner World into Reality.

The idea that Human Nature is intrinsically evil is false. In fact, Human Nature itself is a false concept with no substance. The only Human Nature that we ever have, and will ever need to study, is how members of Humanity has expressed themselves in the past.

For these, we have great teachers like Adolf Hitler and Mother Theresa. They are the different faces of the same Great Teacher of Humanity. Some are for us to emulate, and some are for us to avoid.
