The Future of Humanity

The first decade of the 21st century has proven rather painful and difficult. The election of President Bush, the terrorists attack on the Twin Towers using hijacked passenger jetliners, the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, the SARS outbreak, the Madrid train bombings, the 2008 Financial Crisis, the Mumbai terrorist attacks, the Swine Flu pandemic etc have riveted world attention.

In any situation, there are only 2 ways for us to react: love / acceptance or fear / rejection. The popular movies seem to reflect Humanity's collective sentiment of fear with stories of dystopian futures: Humanity is at war with robots, aliens or each other. Humanity is trying to survive a major disaster or plague. Humanity is in danger of losing its soul to technology.

Humanity Needs a Vision

Humans can only create what it can imagine. In order for Humanity to bring about a positive future, we must first visualise such a future. Hence, I am sharing my Rainbow Vision of Humanity. Whether people consider it an imaginary story or otherwise is up to them - what matters is that we have a template for Humanity to build its collective dreams.

I call it the Rainbow Vision because it shows how we can accept both technology and nature, art and science together with the entire spectrum of human existance. This is the time when Heaven has come to Earth and the time when we can all live the ideal of the Rainbow Human.

  1. Humanity goes to the Stars
  2. Planet Earth returned to Nature

Food for Thought

When we come to the end of charity, when we do not need charity any more, is World Poverty finally over. When we have come to the end of religion, we do not need religion any more, is Salvation finally here. When we have come to the end of advocacy, when we do not need to advocate anymore, is the message finally heard.

Thus, it is only when we are willing to lose our jobs, can we truly solve the problems confronting us. Very few people are willing to lose their jobs, since they have no idea what they will do afterwards. Thus, the world continues to perpetuate the problems they face, even as they struggle to solve these problems.
